Throughout the year, our city has all kinds of marathons, half-marathons, and even 5K runs for charity. The biggest one that we love to help out with is the charity run for St. Jude. It’s for such a great cause and it feels like the entire city rallies behind all of the runners who participate. You’ll see people everywhere holding up banners and cheering on the runners and doing whatever they can to help them along the way.
I’ve been part of a quick stop tent station for the past couple of years and it is amazing. We’ll cook some potatoes, which is a great burst of starch energy for running, and have drinks just lined up so the runners can snag something while they’re at it. It’s really fun to watch and I’m glad that we get to help them out in any way that we can.
