It is state cheerleading championship week and my girls couldn’t be more excited. They have been practicing non-stop, twirling, kicking, and spinning all over the house like tornados with pompoms. Of course, I’m going to be super supportive of my girls but that doesn’t mean I can’t be the embarrassing dad with face paint, fog horns, and pre-competition tailgating tent cheering them on in the competition.
Sure the wife gives me glances every now and again when I’ve got my game face on but hey, that’s what dads are supposed to do right? All in all, I’m really happy for them and it’s amazing to see their faces light when they hit the field. It’s also hilarious to see how red they get once they see me with my game face on and fuzzy afro screaming like a maniac. I knew that I would be a great dad.
